The blaze broke out around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, March 10 at the Advanced Powder Coating, located at 111 Magnolia Avenue, in New Cassel, said Nassau County Police.
At least a dozen fire departments responded to the fire that caused the evacuation due to a collapsed roof, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office.
Officials said the fire was extinguished within a few hours and was not considered suspicious.
The Westbury Fire Department responded and was assisted by Carle Place, Hicksville, Uniondale, East Meadow, Mineola, Garden City, Garden City Park, Levittown, Locust Valley, North Merrick, East Williston, Plainview, Bethpage, Port Washington, and Syosset fire departments.
The investigation is ongoing.
